Client: Dublin Airport Authority Area: 9,050 sq. m. Construction budget: €36 m Sector: Commerical, International, Retail Location: Dublin, Ireland Planning a new project? A new hub between Terminal 1 and the two new piers C & D in Dublin, Ireland. T1X is a three-storey air-side extension to the departures section of the main terminal building. It was constructed on pillars over the active baggage ramps, with no interruption to their operation. The building comprises duty-free retail, restaurants and a double-height waiting area. The West-facing fully glazed façade overlooking the airfield has a cloud-like pattern fritted over it in order to control the glare. The initial concept was prepared by ADPi (France); Alexander Rakita was the project leader in MOLA (Dublin).
